Europe is going through one of its more important crisis since it was founded : economic crisis, humanitarian crisis, cohesion crisis. In the light of 40 years of research on European opinion as well as of the latest developments (Brexit) we will try to understand where European democracies stand and if the European project can regain its place as a cohesion project rather than a division one. Edouard Lecerf has extensive experience in opinion monitoring, political research, policy formulation and evaluation, digital government, public service improvement and strategic communications but also in corporate reputation and market research. Edouard advises the European Commission and the European Parliament on opinion monitoring After graduating from the Institute of Political Studies, Edouard started his career as a journalist. He joined the opinion research sector 25 years ago. He was Head of the Opinion & Media sector at the French Prime Minister’s Information Service for 5 years before joining Ipsos as Managing Director of Ipsos Public Affairs in France. For TNS, he worked as Deputy Managing Director of TNS Sofres, then MD for France (TNS Sofres). He is now Global Director for Political & Opinion research at Group level. Edouard Lecerf is a frequent lecturer on Political & opinion trends and is regularly invited in the media. He is co-author of l’Etat de l’Opinion, an annual review of opinion trends (Editions du Seuil) with Olivier Duhamel (President of Political Science National Foundation in Paris).
